Tips from the Pro

Visualize Putting like the
Pro’s
Putting is over 40% of your score, so, if your goals are to
start producing lower scores, then you need to start allowing yourself more
time to practice putting and to understand your stroke. When you realize that
all putts are straight putts then you have a better chance of making more putts
and three putting less. The secret is in
the setup and the eyes.
- Check
to make sure your feet, knees, hips, wrists and forearms are parallel to
the line you are putting on.
- The
position of your eyes should be just over the line or slightly inside.
- Your
hands need to be even or slightly ahead of the putter head and remain
there throughout the stroke.
- Maybe the most important fundamental
of all, on breaking putts, the last look you take, should always be on the
line you are putting on, not the hole.
- Follow
a few of these basis fundamentals and you should be a lot more consistent,
remember to start by practicing a straight putt from about 3 feet and then
go to breaking putts.
